Who do you want to be in your kids eyes?

Parenting is not an easy job. Combine it with Anxiety and you spend endless hours thinking if you are doing the right thing for your kids. I've spoken about my hopes and wishes as a parent. Love, health, peace and happiness. To see them thrive to be who they are meant to be, to serve their purpose in life. The biggest thing though - one attribute I forgot to mention out loud - is kindness and COMPASSION.

My friend Laura has been part of the Santa Shoebox Project for a while. I was scrolling through facebook with my eldest on my bed, and we happened to read her campaign at the same time.  I immediately committed to 4 boxes, one for each member of the family. I remember how teary Miss Flower Jackson was when she understood just how many kids would appreciate these gifts. A couple of days later she comes to me and says "Mom, I want to do more. I want to collect much more boxes. Imagine if some of the kids don't get anything. We can make a difference." And that's the moment right there. A moment when tears just fall down your cheeks and you think 'I don't know what I did to deserve this, but thank you Lord'.

And here goes our campaign:

Dear family and friends, your help would be greatly appreciated. My daughter Palesa has decided to rally for ‪#‎santashoeboxproject‬ and is aiming on collecting 50 boxes for this charity. Two ways of helping us:
1 donate R200 and she will personally buy all the items for the box or
2 package your own box and she will collect. Contents of the shoebox are in the picture attached.
